Can I roam in the Maldives?
Make sure you ask your mobile operator to activate international roaming at least 2 days before you leave. And remember to check whether your mobile will work in the Maldives on Wataniya’s GSM (900MHz), GPRS and 3G+ network.
Making calls while in the Maldives
Check your numbers. When in the Maldives you'll need to add + followed by the country code and area code before you key in the number you want to reach.
For example, if you want to call the UK, dial +44 777 888 999. Make sure that you change the country codes and area codes of the numbers in your phone directory so you can call your friends and family at home without the hassle of changing country codes every time you dial.
When I've arrived in the Maldives how do I start making calls?
On your mobile, go to 'Network Select' or 'Network Search' and choose 'Manual'.
Select 'Wataniya', '472-02', 'WMobile', 'MDV-02' or '472 2'.
Add + or 00 followed by the country code and area code before you key in the number you want to call and press send.

Can I use the services I use back at home while roaming with Wataniya?
Some or all of the roaming services except for voice calls may not be available depending on the agreement Wataniya has with your operator. If you'd like to know details, contact your operator before you travel.
How will I be charged for roaming?
This will also depend on your home operator.
