How can I roam while I am abroad?

• If you are a wPostpaid, BlackBerry or Mobile VPN customer, international roaming is available, and you can make and receive calls when you're away from the Maldives. Just walk into one of our shops and we will activate the service for you. If you need help just call 929.

• To activate roaming a deposit of Rf2000 for local and USD500 for foreigners is applicable.

Can I use my phone in any Country?

GSM networks in North America (Canada, Mexico and the U.S.A) operate on different frequencies from the rest of the world (1900MHz) so you might not be able to use your mobile in these countries. Please check with Customer Care by simply calling 929.

How can I make calls when I'm abroad?

While roaming you'll need to add + or 00 followed by the country code and area code before you key in the number you want to call - if you are a frequent roamer you should always add numbers to the phone book in this format.

If I have problems with my mobile while traveling, how can I get help?

If you need help, you can always reach a Wataniya Customer Care Representative on +9609613929 when roaming.
You will be charged for an international call.   

Can I use the services I have at home while roaming?

All services available at home should be active in other destinations. However some features are subject to local capabilities and may not be available while roaming internationally.

How do I place calls to the Maldives when roaming?

Simply dial the country code +960 and number of the person in the Maldives.

Why does it take up to two separate bills for all of my roaming charges to appear?

Some operators take up to 45 days to forward roaming charges to Wataniya, this sometimes causes a delay in billing roaming charges. This also means that your roaming charges may be spread across two monthly bills, depending on the time you spent abroad.

Why was I billed for incomplete calls while roaming when I'm not charged for them at home?

When roaming, you may be charged for incomplete calls based on the billing policy of the network you are roaming in.
