wLocate is the first and most sophisticated vessel, vehicle and personal tracking system in the Maldives. wLocate is another addition to the range of innovative and technologically advanced products and services introduced by Wataniya. It enables users to keep valuable assets safe and secure easily, with just a GSM/GPRS or satellite connection.

Key Features

·         The system offers real-time GPS vehicle tracking updates with reports generated every 10 seconds.

·         The system works with a mobile GPRS service or with a satellite service, depending on the type of tracking device selected.

·         The user could view the exact location of the vessel in real-time (either while moving or stationary) through a web interface, using a PC, Laptop or Smart Phone.

·         The system provides mapping for the entire world using the most up-to-date maps from Google and Microsoft.

·         The user can define Geo-fences for the trip and receive auto-alerts if the vessel strays away from the defined path.

·         The user is able to retrace the routes of previous trips.

·         The system automatically generates reports detailing full vessel location history, distance travelled, trips made, over-speeding, stop detail & daily work hours, Estimated Time of arrival (ETA), etc.

·         The system can automatically locate the nearest vessel or vehicle, which is useful for Taxi or Ambulance Services.

·         Tracking devices have an SOS Emergency button, which allows vessels to send an instant and potentially life-saving emergency message with the simple press of a button.

·         The system allows 2-way voice communication, if needed.

·         The system provides real-time fuel level reporting, which is useful to check fuel consumption

·         The system offers real-time temperature monitoring, which is useful for vehicles and vessels transporting refrigerated cargo etc.

·         Optional camera images from the vehicle can be uploaded to the software as well.

How does it work?

·         It either employs a simple tracking device or could be used to turn your mobile phone into a tracker – it can be installed inside a vessel or a vehicle, or carried by a user. From the signals received from the GPS satellite, location data is processed and transmitted via the Wataniya network to the web server and from there, users can access it via an Internet connection.

·         Users can control the vehicle or vessel from a PC/mobile if required, and view the real-time location of vehicles from the area map. By setting Geo-fencing, or indicating a specific geographical area, users will be notified by SMS alerts if it moves beyond that set area, and vehicle or vessel control can be exercised. Users can also view routes taken and trips made on Google or Microsoft Bing maps, view automatically generated reports, monitor fuel and temperature and other environmental factors.

Why monitor fuel consumption?

·         Fuel monitoring is ideal for company cars or speedboats to ensure that fuel is used efficiently. It could also be used to monitor fuel supply operators to guard against pilferage.

Why monitor temperature?

·         Importers and exporters often need to monitor temperature of refrigerated cargo, and for long-haul transport vehicles, monitoring of engine temperature would also be important.

What hardware is required to use wLocate?

·         With wLocate GPRS and wLocate Satellite, a tracking device needs to be installed on the vehicle or vessel that is being tracked.  

How can a user monitor movements?

·         Users can access real-time movements of vessels, vehicle or people just by simply logging into a dedicated web client. Access to the Internet is all that is needed.

Can anyone access the system?

·         Public and private accounts can be set-up to either open or restrict access.

·         Public accounts could, for example, be provided for employees of a Speedboat Operator. In the case of a Ferry Operator, access could be given to the public to access basic information.

What type of mobile connection is required?

·         Each tracker needs a SIM with a wLocate connection package. Individual connections are required for each tracking device.

How do I get my wLocate system?

Once the tracking device has been purchased, and the relevant wLocate package has been selected, you will receive login details to access the online tracking system. Any number of trackers could be linked to your account.
